November 27-December 23, 2009
263 Pearl Street • Cambridge, MA 02139
Opening Reception: December 5 | 4-6pm
I was invited to participate in a group show at Gallery 263 in Cambridge. I initially found out about the gallery on my way to teach an elective art class at the Martin Luther King School. I rode my bike past the gallery twice a week, and one day I saw someone inside! I decided to stop in and say hello. Over the past few years, I and have been humbled by the inclusiveness of the directors and fellow artists that show work here. I feel very fortunate to be welcomed into this wonderful community space.
Each artist in the show has been given 4 feet by 6 feet of space to hang their work. Since the space is very tall, but not very wide, I'm using the gallery floor to plan and rearrange the layout of my paintings. I'm going to let this layout breath overnight and come back tomorrow to hang each piece on the wall.
The show will feature small works by local artists working in a variety of media, including: printmaking, photography, painting, illustration, and hand-made crafts. I hope to see you at the opening!
